This is the classic debate of nature versus nurture. Are our musical traits found in our DNA? We all know that music is universal and doesn’t take any requirement but only from the satisfaction of listening, enjoying, and understanding. Situated just south of downtown Alpharetta on Highway 9, Matilda’s Cottage is a happy jumble of color and “rural chic” charm. The gallery was originally established in the late 1990’s by MJ and Mark Potter as a collaborative retail space of art, antiques, and funky junk shared by local entrepeneurs who rented rooms in the house. There really isn’t a difference between singing lessons and voice lessons. It is simply semantics. Generally, the public is looking for singing lessons, as they want to learn how to sing. Voice teachers call singing lessons voice lessons or vocal lessons. This is because the voice is the instrument. Just as one would call lessons in piano piano lessons, piano is the instrument.

Just think about how you feel when you listen to your favorite song? How about a sad song? Or even songs about break-ups? If you can simply create a beat by tapping a pencil on your lap then you can learn the basics of music development. Read More
